Wild Goose Qigong is one of China's most popular Qigong Styles. Originating in the Kunlun Mountains, to the west of China, this system was developed based on the movements of the Wild Geese which flew over this region. The birds' annual visit gave an impression of their being immortal, and ancient Daoists copied their movements hoping to have the same effect on themselves! The system taught today has over 70 different sets of practise, some are active (movement forms) and some are Meditation techniques.
HEALTH BENEFITS
Wild Goose Qigong can cure many ailments. It is beneficial to cardiac symptoms, the urinary, digestive, respiratory and the nervous system. It has been known to cure arthritis, diabetes, epilepsy, skin conditions, gynaecological diseases, mental disorders and many more.
CHARACTERISTICS Wild Goose Qigong follows the principle of yin and yang. Yang Meijun described it as "feet step (in) yin and yang whilst hands draw circles" (jiao cai yin yang shou hua yuan) The movements are light and free flowing, allowing the qi to flow freely and the channels to open, thus bringing the body into balance.

GRANDMASTER YANG MEI JUN - 27th GENERATION The late Grandmaster Yang Meijun died in July 2002 at the age of 106! She inherited the system from her Grandfather, but during her lifetime she only publicly taught 11 exercise routines and 6 Meditation exercises. Although she also taught other routines eg "Swimming Dragon", this was not a part of the "Wild Goose" system.
The most popular Exercise routine is of course the 64 actions of the (First part) Wild Goose Qigong.
Combined with the 64 actions of the second part, this is the longest routine in the system. This is easily recognised by the graceful movements which are suggestive of an innocent and carefree wild goose! However
much shorter and easier to learn routines are:
Kunlun Bagua Qigong Tripod and Spiral Qigong Soft Palms Qigong Patting the Meridians Qigong
It was the greatest wish of Yang Meijun that the Wild Goose system be passed on to give its benefits to the World!
DR BINGKUN HU Dr Hu originates from Shanghai. He has spent most of his life studying Qigong systems and was a disciple of the late Grandmaster Yang Meijun. Now living in California, he runs week-end workshops to teach the Wild Goose system and also travels world wide in his effort to promote it as was the wish of his teacher, Grandmaster Yang Meijun.
28th GENERATION Following the death of his mother Grandmaster Yang Meijun, her son CHEN CHUAN GANG is now the next direct lineage holder. Already he has incorporated some revision to some of the forms that were passed on to him by his mother. It is hoped that he will in time, make public more of the Wild Goose System.
