I first met Grandmaster Chen when he came to Britain in 1998. I took part in his classes where he taught Xin Jia Yi Lu (New Frame) and the 18 Short Form. In 1999 he returned to Britain and we studied Pushing Hands and reviewed the New Frame form.

MY TRAINING WITH GRANDMASTER CHEN In August 1999 I visited China for the first time and trained with him at the 1st International Advanced Tai Chi course, in Handan, Hebei. We reviewed in detail the New Frame form.
In September 2001 I again trained in China with the Grandmaster, this time in Zheng Zhou, at the 3rd International Advanced Course. This time we studied the Lao Jia Er Lu (Old Frame Cannon Fist) and also revised the Lao Jia Yi Lu, Xin jia Yi Lu, 18 Short Form (shibashi) and Pushing Hands.
In April 2003 Grandmaster Chen came to England and we able to take part in workshops with him again.
We were honoured to receive him at our class in Bury, where over 100 students turned out to welcome him and to practise Tai Chi with him!

Pictured above are students from the British Chen Style Tai Chi College, who took part in a Tai Chi and Kung Fu show in 2006. The show in Sale, Gt Manchester gave an opportunity for people to see Grandmaster Chen and his son Chen Bin performing. Our group , pictured with Grandmaster Chen, demonstrated the 18 Short Form. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform alongside the Grandmaster. The theatre was packed for both performances and the atmosphere was amazing!
Grandmaster Chen has his own website.
